Alexandra Ray
Alexandra Ray, Director of Alexandra Ray Art Advisory, has been an art advisor, private art dealer and curator on the West Coast for 15 years now. Alexandra Ray began dealing privately in art in London at the pinnacle of the exploding British Art scene in the late 90’s working with the YBA’s and placing them in several corporate and private collections. Having relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006, she set up her art advisory business on the West Coast, focusing primarily on Post War European and American Contemporary art for corporate and private residential collectors.She has curated numerous pop up shows showcasing many international emerging artists in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Additionally, she has worked with some of the most talented Interior designers and architects placing art in their client’s interiors and advising new collectors on expanding their art collections.
Alexandra gained a BA Honors Degree in Fine Art at Central St. Martin’s in London, England. She currently serves as a member of San Francisco MOMA’S SECA (Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art) is a board member for StART Up Art fairs in L.A and San Francisco and the Headlands Center for the Arts, SF.
Catherine Loewe
Catherine Loewe is an art historian, curator and advisor based in the UK. After completing a degree in Art History at the University of East Anglia, Catherine held a number of positions at Christie’s and leading contemporary galleries Waddington Galleries and Anthony d’Offay. She subsequently worked for art publishers Flash Art, Art + Auction and Ocula, before launching her own agency In 2008 creating innovative projects, with YBA artists including Gary Hume, Fiona Rae, Gavin Turk, Glenn Brown and continues her track record of identifying emerging talent. Specialising in Modern & Contemporary Art, Catherine advises private and corporate collections on acquisitions, commissions, cultural programmes, philanthropic projects, museum exhibitions, education, public relations and events. Recent curatorial work and publication texts include: Fabric of Life, VORTIC + Paul Smith London; Tete a Tete, Mucciaccia Gallery, Rome; Philip Colbert The House of the Lobster, National Archaeological Museum, Naples.
Catherine was commissioned by the City of Rome as inaugural curator for the Via Veneto Public Sculpture Project in 2021 selecting large-scale works by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, and in 2022 Philip Colbert. Catherine has served on the Patrons of New Art acquisition committee Tate Modern, Modern Art Museum, Oxford and on the committee for the Kensington & Chelsea Art Festival.
