Eye of the Huntress is proud to launch its inaugural NFT show in collaboration with SuperRare bringing together nine international women from fine art, fashion, film and design, whose work intersects the physical and digital. Presenting unique works by Aslan Ruby from Australia the artist of the ethereal Meta Angels, Talia Zoref from Israel the creator of Eyes of Fashion, Varvara Alay from Georgia and artist of The Flower Girls, Canadian Nigerian artist Lizzy Aroloye, Korean designer Dayoung Kim, with UK based multi-disciplinary artists Misha Milovanovich, Laura Shepherd, Charlotte Colbert and Kate Daudy. The show will be available to view via some.place.
It is more than 50 years since Linda Nochlin wrote her seminal essay “Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?”, in which she stated that the key is critical practice. Rather than simply inserting women into the art historical canon, we must crack open the canon itself and challenge conventional ways of thinking, seeing and creating.
We are now standing on the precipice of a new paradigm and pioneering women are embracing technology and a utopian vision with decentralization at its core that reaches everywhere on this beautiful planet and beyond into the Metaverse. Yet despite being half the population, women remain marginalized both in the digital and traditional art world. In 2021, women accounted for only 16% of the NFT art market and 5% of sales. As a female-led platform at The Eye of the Huntress breaking the bias is part of our DNA, so in this evolving space, we are excited to continue carving a niche that highlights women creators in Web3.
The title Goddess is inspired by the name of our platform Eye of the Huntress, itself a reference to Diana, the goddess of the hunt, an icon of feminine prowess from the classical world. Kate Daudy Photo, NFT Singularity Description: Singularity is based on Kate’s long-established physical “trees” series and takes her traditional collage methods and materials into the digital space. The visual DNA of her physical trees has been identified, codified and worked into a fully automatic generative art platform.
Laura Shepherd MP4, NFT Define Feminine I This collection celebrates the divine feminine that emerged from my experiments with digital alchemy. In February 2022, I embarked on a series of virtual psychedelic adventures. I created trippy roller coaster rides mixing my 5-HT pattern formulation with 3D sculpts and animation, and then introduced procedural mathematical transformations to generate random results. After rendering I went back to study each image, frame by frame, and was astonished to see a whole family of machine hallucinations and trippy biomorphic portraits, some of which were distinctly feminine.

The gem covering the eye represents the abundance of truth, knowledge, and the unique experiences my eyes have seen so far - and how all of that has been like gems to my individual life journey."
Misha Milovanovich Digital, NFT Spiritual Eternal Untitled Description: Spiritual Eternal sees Misha humorously deconstruct the history of art by borrowing elements from famous artworks created by prominent historical male artists. In this body of work created during early days of pandemic in 2020/2001, Misha worked with computer graphics technology such as Z Brush and Blender to create new spiritual and perceptual dimensions. These works speak of beauty and female power of rejuvenation, Mother Nature, too. Yet they carry a warning about its vulnerability in a world where capital gain prevails over the need to nurture, grow and renew, questioning our relationship to nature and what it’s becoming.
